Lorena City Council meets the third Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. except in January and February when they meet the 3rd Tuesday of the month due to the Martin Luther King and Presidents Day Holidays. Council meetings are held at Lorena City Hall, located at 107-A South Frontage Road, Lorena, TX 76655. Meeting dates for 2025 are as follows:
Jan 21st, Feb 18th, Mar 17th, Apr 21st, May 19th, Jun 16th, Jul 21st, Aug 18th, Sep 15th, Oct 20th, Nov 17th and Dec 15th.
Special called meetings and workshops are held during the budget process or as needed. All meetings are posted at least three (3) business days prior to the meeting date as required by law.
Texas Municipal League Handbook for Mayors and Councilmembers
The Handbook presents an overview of the functions, powers, and responsibilities of mayors and councilmembers in home rule and general law cities. Topics covered include policy development, budgeting and financial administration, council meetings, conflicts of interest, personal liability, and media relations. Lorena is a Type A General Law City.

Council members are elected at large annually for a two year term. Elections are held the first Saturday in May.
